Architecture Preview #1

Habitat 67
1. The architect is Moshe Safdie.
2. Habitat 67 was built in 1967.
3. This architectural building is located in Montreal, Quebec.
4. You are welcome to visit. however it is a housing complex with residents living there so you need to be considerate of the houses.
5. Habitat 67 costed about $22 million and it costs roughly about $1 million to live in a complex.
6. The architect, Moshe Safdie opened his idea about the housing at McGill University and was then built as a pavilion for Expo 67, a World Fair.
7. I chose this building because it was completely different from any =thing I have seen before and compelled me to learn more about it. I particularly chose this building out of the others because I personally visit Canada a bit because my family ;ives there  so I wanted to see if I could visit the unique building. I was also completely fascinated by the architecture of the building and how the architect figured out of to make it work with the tetris cubes on top of each other almost looking as if it would all fall.

Eden Project
1. The architect is Nicholas Grimshaw.
2. This botanical garden was built in 1998.
3. This building is located in Bodelva, England.
4. You are completely welcome to visit the outstanding botanical gardens.
5. This costed about $184,685,325 to build.
6. This building was created to house plants from all over the world from different climates so visitors can see wonders of the world. It also provides a way for people to know the importance of plants and to promote sustainable use of plant resources.
7.  I chose this building because I was interested what it was used for and why it looked the way it did. I soon found out that it was a botanical garden and I was so compelled to look inside and learn about it. The interesting architecture is something that I have never seen before and the way it houses the plants is amazing.

Atomium
1. The architects are Jean Polak and Andre Polak.
2. The Atomium was built in 1957.
3.  This building is located in the City of Brussels, Belgium.
4. You are welcome to visit you just need to buy tickets in advance.
5. This costed about $34, 052,850 to build.
6. This building was created to originally be at the 1958 Brussels World Fair. It is now currently a museum.
7. I chose this building because of its unique appearance. The Atomium drew me to it because how it was constructed to create a magnified ferris wheel look. The building is now a museum for vistors to admire the look of it.



Turning Torso
1. The architect is Santiago Calatrava
2. The Turning Torso was built in 2001.
3. This skyscraper is located in Malmo, Sweden.
4. You are allowed to visit but it is a residential skyscraper meaning people live there.
5. The building costed about $314,315,040.
6. The building was created to uniquely house residents in downtown Malmo.
7. I chose the building because I was curious to know about how the architect created the turning affect safely with housing a lot of residents. The turning affect drew me because it is something I have never seen before. The clean look and finish is appealing to look even if you have never known about this building.
